Regional Coastal Resilience

EESI’s Coastal Resilience briefing series explores regional issues outlined in the 2018 Fourth National Climate Assessment.

With a focus on nature-based solutions, experts from coastal regions around the country discuss the science, policy, and programs that enable people, communities, infrastructure, and ecosystems to withstand climate impacts (such as extreme weather events, intense heat, and intense flooding) and build back smarter. Nature-based solutions enjoy bipartisan support for their social and environmental advantages and good fiscal sense. But what those solutions look like, and how they are financed and implemented, varies among geographies and communities. This briefing series characterizes unique challenges by region while highlighting best practices, common themes, and helpful federal initiatives that can inform resilience work across the country.
