More frequent and intense storms, greater flooding, sea level rise, altered seasons, longer droughts, and larger wildfires—all effects of climate change that we are seeing today—necessitate policies and investments designed to protect communities and natural systems from the impacts of a changing climate. Resilience, which is the ability of a system to absorb, withstand and bounce back after an adverse event, is crucial as climate change continues to worsen. EESI published an article series on a number of federal programs that help increase resilience to climate change.
