Charity Navigator—the nation’s largest evaluator of nonprofits—has just released its latest rating of EESI: Four Stars, the highest possible rating. Charity Navigator’s CEO, Ken Berger, just wrote to EESI to notify us of this achievement, saying:

"We are proud to announce Environmental and Energy Study Institute has earned our fifth consecutive 4-star rating. Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that your organization adheres to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way. Only 4% of the charities we rate have received at least 5 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Environmental and Energy Study Institute outperforms most other charities in America. This “exceptional” designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Environmental and Energy Study Institute from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust."

Charity Navigator was selected as Best Charity Review Site in Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine’s “The Best List 2011.” Its method for evaluating charities has also been profiled in Forbes and Business week. Its data helps donors decide where to make their charitable contributions. Donor contributions—including many from Charity Navigator users—are an essential part of EESI’s work, ensuring that we continue to operate closely with our nation’s policymakers advancing the United States on a clean energy path. EESI thanks its donors for making this work possible.
