EESI Presents at National Planning Conference

On April 27, EESI’s Jan Mueller gave a presentation on integrating energy and climate into planning at the American Planning Association’s (APA) annual conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Jan and Suzanne Rynne of APA provided a preview of the Planners Energy and Climate report, due for release in October 2009, and accompanying database launched in January 2009, two components of the APA/EESI joint project Planning for a New Energy and Climate Future . The feedback and best practices gathered at the conference will be invaluable resources to the team as they move forward with the project.

This year marked the 101st National Planning Conference, drawing approximately 4,500 planners, officials and allied professionals from across the nation and around the world. The conference addressed issues critical to the planning profession including transportation, infrastructure, environmental sustainability, urban design, and economic development.
