March 4, 2014—The Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI) is delighted to announce that it has been selected by Suja Juice Co. as one of the 12 nonprofit partners featured in the Suja Elements Cause Collective™ program. The Elements Cause Collective program seeks to raise $1 million annually for nonprofit organizations whose goals strongly appeal to Suja's core values. The funds will be raised through the sale of Suja Juice's ‘Elements’ line of juices and smoothies, with each of the designated nonprofits paired to a particular flavor. Among the 11 other nonprofits benefiting from the program are Healthy Child Healthy World, International Rescue Committee, and Oceana.

EESI Executive Director Carol Werner said, "We are delighted that Suja wants to support sustainable solutions by partnering with EESI with such a delicious, sustainable product." Errol Schweizer, Executive Global Grocery Coordinator for Whole Foods Market, which is the exclusive distributor of the Suja Elements line, noted, "Suja Elements has taken high quality, purpose driven products to a new level of excellence. This new line is a great example of what we stand for and we are excited to be offering it to our customers."

Macachino is being sold by Whole Foods Market stores across the nation. The suggested retail price is $4.99 for a 12-ounce bottle.

EESI's flavor is Macachino - an energizing combination of cacao, coffee bean, coconut, black sesame, almond, vanilla, and, last but not least, maca (a plant native to the Peruvian Andes whose root has a very high nutritional value). Macachino is the only Elements smoothie with caffeine, so just as EESI promotes sustainable energy, Macachino energizes sustainably! For every bottle of Macachino sold, EESI will receive a 20-cent donation, with a guaranteed minimum contribution of $15,000.

In line with EESI's philosophy of sustainability, the Suja Elements line is entirely organic and non-GMO. The juices and smoothies are packed with vital nutrients, amino acids, omegas and antioxidants and do not include any added flavors, colors or preservatives—EESI staff and interns can attest to how delectable Macachino is!
