December 1, 2025—The Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI) received a 100% score from Charity Navigator, America’s largest and most trusted independent charity evaluator. The 100% score qualifies EESI for its 18th Four-Star Rating, the highest possible.

“Achieving a perfect score only reinvigorates our drive to advance climate solutions,” said EESI Board Chair Jared Blum. “A 100% score assures our generous funders and the general public alike that EESI is soundly run, backed by a 40-year history of accomplishment and transparency, and has been—and will continue to be—mission driven. It is very gratifying to see our efforts rewarded by this recognition.”

“Our nonpartisan, science-based educational resources about environmental, clean energy, and climate change issues are in high demand on Capitol Hill,” explained EESI President Daniel Bresette. “That is no small feat given the current political and policy environment. We serve a critical purpose—educating policymakers—and we do so with an unflagging commitment to transparency and effectiveness. We are proud to have our impact recognized with a perfect score.”

Charity Navigator awarded EESI a 100% score based on an analysis of the organization’s accountability and finance, culture and community, and leadership and adaptability. EESI first earned a perfect score in 2017. EESI also boasts a 2025 Platinum Seal of Transparency on its Candid GuideStar profile and was named a Top-Rated Nonprofit by GreatNonprofits for the 15th time in 2025. All these recognitions validate EESI’s unmatched dedication to outstanding nonprofit performance, impact, and good stewardship of donor investments.

Since 1984, EESI has worked to advance science-based solutions for climate change, energy, and environmental challenges to achieve our vision of a sustainable, resilient, and equitable world. Each year, EESI produces more than 20 Congressional briefings, 35 newsletters, and 100 articles, as well as fact sheets, issue briefs, and podcast episodes.
