Opponents of Farm Bill Energy Programs Introduce Amendments
Now that the Senate has decided to move ahead with the floor debate and votes on the Agriculture Reform, Food, and Jobs Act of 2012, more than 280 amendments have been filed. Some would repeal or dramatically weaken current rural bioenergy and renewable energy programs.

More or Less Conservation? Farm Bill Debate Will Decide
Voluntary agriculture conservation programs have contributed measurably and importantly to reducing soil erosion, protecting water quality and supplies, preserving wildlife habitat, and protecting biological diversity. They have helped make American agriculture more sustainable. But much more needs to be done, and more farmers need to participate. The Senate Farm Bill debate will help decide if that will happen.

June 21: 15th Annual Congressional Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency EXPO + Policy Forum
On June 21, the Sustainable Energy Coalition — in cooperation with the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Caucuses — will host the 15th Annual Congressional Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency EXPO + Forum. The EXPO is free, open to the public, and no RSVPs are required. The events will be held on Thursday, June 21, 9:30am-4:30pm in the 345 Cannon House Office Building (Cannon Caucus Room).
