Highlights:
The Senate passed Sen. Ruben Gallego’s (D-Ariz.) Cross-Boundary Wildfire Solutions Act (S.2033). The bill would facilitate coordination between federal, state, local, tribal, and private entities on wildfire risk reduction. A companion bill (H.R.3922), reintroduced by Reps. Joe Neguse (D-Colo.), Young Kim (R-Calif.), Josh Harder (D-Calif.), and Jay Obernolte (R-Calif.), passed the House the week prior.
The House passed the Stop Illegal Fishing Act (H.R.6338). Reps. Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.) and Young Kim (R-Calif.) introduced the bill to penalize entities and individuals engaged in illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing. IUU contributes to fishery depletion and threatens economic and food security worldwide.
The House also passed the Developing Overseas Mineral Investments and New Allied Networks for Critical Energies (DOMINANCE) Act (H.R.7037). Reps. Young Kim (R-Calif.) and Ami Bera (D-Calif.) introduced the bill to secure international partnerships that will in turn strengthen U.S. critical mineral supply chains.
