The Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI) invites you to a briefing about what Congress can expect during the upcoming United Nations climate negotiations in Antalya, Türkiye (COP31). Hundreds of negotiating sessions and thousands of events will take place over the course of the two-week UN session. Whether traveling to Antalya or observing COP31 from D.C., this briefing will guide policymakers on how to engage effectively.
The briefing will highlight key issues on the negotiating agenda, including fossil fuel phase-out, climate adaptation metrics, and international finance goals. Panelists will describe the role of the joint Türkiye-Australia COP31 Presidency; unpack the Presidency's priorities, including waste management and electrification; and highlight expected U.S. state and local government and private-sector engagement. It will also preview possible outcomes from COP31 and what they would mean for U.S. climate policy.
Panelists to be announced.
This event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP to expedite check-in.
