Highlights:

Reps. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) and Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) reintroduced the Prohibiting Threatened and Endangered Creature Trophies Act of 2024 (H.R. 7840). The bill amends the Endangered Species Act (P.L. 93-205) to prohibit the “trophy hunting” of species vulnerable to extinction in the United States.

Reps. Jill Tokuda (D-Hawaii) and Ed Case (D-Hawaii), and Del. James Moylan (R-Guam) introduced H.R.7850, which could waive limitations on payments under the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), which provides financial and technical assistance to agricultural workers undertaking conservation measures. Del. James Moylan (R-Guam) introduced H.R.7843 to catalyze staffing power from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to support Guam Environmental Protection Agency efforts to conduct required environmental inspections at local military installations. The bill is expected to be included in the National Defense Authorization Act of 2025.
