Highlights:

The Earth Act to Stop Climate Pollution by 2030 (H.R.598) was introduced in the House. The bill would mandate 100 percent renewable energy production and 100 percent zero emission vehicle production by 2030, as well as create grant programs for these transitions.

The COMPOST Act (H.R.651) was also introduced in the House. The bill would officially designate composting as a conservation activity, and provide financial support for composting programs. EESI’s article, “Biochar and Compost for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation,” discusses the benefits of compost in preventing methane emissions from food waste.
