On May 14, the Sustainable Energy Coalition, in cooperation with the House and Senate Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Caucuses, held an event on Capitol Hill to educate policymakers about the current status and near-term potential of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. This year’s EXPO brought together more than 50 businesses, sustainable energy industry trade associations, government agencies, and energy policy research organizations. Reps. Vernon Ehlers (R-MI), Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), and Roscoe Bartlett (R-MD) provided welcoming remarks and discussed the role sustainable energy technologies can play in solving multiple economic, environmental, and security issues. Adjacent to the EXPO, expert panels discussed a variety of renewable energy and energy efficiency technology and policy issues.
