The Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI) invites you to a briefing about strategies to make housing more sustainable, healthy, energy-efficient, resilient, and affordable. Rising housing costs are a serious concern. Home prices in the United States have risen by 29%, and electricity costs have increased by 43% since 2020. Home insurance premiums are up almost 50%, while communities across the country face higher costs from hurricanes, hailstorms, and other severe weather events.
Strategies to improve housing sustainability can deliver multiple, complementary benefits to homeowners and renters, especially when implemented together. This briefing will discuss how sustainable choices in housing development, construction, and maintenance can make occupants healthier and safer while lowering costs, conserving energy and water, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Panelists will identify policies and technologies proven to enhance indoor air quality, energy efficiency, mobility, and overall quality of life.
Panelists to be announced.
This event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP to expedite check-in.
