Legislative Analysis: Senate Energy Bill (HR 4)
On
Thursday, July 31, much to everyone’s surprise, the Senate passed
the energy bill that had passed the Senate last
year,
since Sen. Dominici (R-NM), Chair of the Senate Energy Commerce, had
been unable to move his bill which was facing more than 300
amendments. The bill was passed last year by a vote of 88-11, and
this year by a vote of 84-14. The bill will now head to Conference
with the House.
