Prime
Minister Tony Blair and the United Kingdom, who will chair the G8 summit in 2005, have determined climate
change a priority issue for this year’s G8 summit agenda.
In preparation for the summit meetings to be held July

Scotland, Prime Minister Blair has been talking with leaders from the
various G8 governments, including the United States, to develop international collaboration on the challenges
presented by climate change, energy security and sustainable
development. The Environmental
and Energy Study Institute cordially invites you to a

The G8 summit is a meeting convened
annually by the eight leading industrialized nations –
Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia and the
United States – to address major political, social and
economic matters facing each participating country and the
global community. On
account of the combined influence of summit members, decisions
made at the G8 summit have the power to change international
institutions and create international forces to deal with global
challenges. The
British government hopes the 2005 G8 summit will draw the world’s attention to the scale and severity of climate change, especially with regard to Africa, and
help establish an international plan to tackle this issue.
