The US Fuel Cell Council (USFCC)
and the Environmental and Energy Study institute convened a briefing
on fuel cell development in the
United
States
.
The fuel cell industry is moving quickly to commercialize
this technology for powering everything from cellular phones and
laptop computers to homes and businesses, as well as cars and buses.
Fuel cells and hydrogen technology have been the focus of
considerable attention and bipartisan support on Capitol Hill –
all the recent blackouts have only increased interest in distributed
generation from technologies such as fuel cells.
As Congress considers several energy-related legislative
measures that include fuel cell and hydrogen provisions, this
briefing will offer an update on recent advancements and the hurdles
that must be overcome to move the technology forward.

USFCC organizes the annual Congressional Fuel Cell EXPO on Capitol
Hill, which draws more than 500 attendees including members of
Congress, Hill staff, federal employees, news media, and members of
the general public. The
USFCC is the trade association for the fuel cell industry and has
more than 115 members. For
