Bipartisan Senate Majority Defeats Attempt to Shift Funds from DOD Biofuel Program

An effort to shift funds from the military’s alternative fuel program failed, by a bipartisan vote of 40-59.

Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA) offered an amendment (Senate Amendment 115) to the Department of Defense, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Full-Year Continuing Appropriations Act, 2013 (H.R. 933). The amendment would have shifted $60 million from the Defense Department’s biofuels program to other accounts.
