2007 National Summit on Energy Security
with Senator Richard G. Lugar On behalf of the 2020 Vision Education Fund and the CNA Corporation, it is our pleasure to invite you to the second annual National Summit on Energy Security on July 12, 2007 at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. (EESI is a supporting organization of this event) The theme of the 2007 National Summit is "National Security and America's Addiction to Carbon: Solutions to Oil Dependence and Climate Change." We will have a special focus on the promising potential on plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. Senator Richard G. Lugar (R-IN) will deliver a major policy address and receive the first annual Energy Security Leadership Award presented by former Director of Central Intelligence R. James Woolsey. Other confirmed speakers include former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, Air Force Asst. Secretary William Anderson, National Association of Evangelicals Vice President Richard Cizik, Energy Conversion Devices founder Stan Ovshinsky, General Motors Legislative Director Keith Cole, and Sherri Goodman of the CNA Corporation. After the Summit, please join a reception and presentation by artic explorer Will Steger on his recent four-month, 1,200-mile dogsled expedition of Baffin Island, Nunavut to learn about the effects of global warming.
